- In 2021, the Plainfield Optimist Club started a program to honor our true first responders. These are the people behind the scenes that work to support the police and fire fighters all while being that reassuring voice on the phone. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW) is held annually during the second week of April to honor public safety telecommunicators for their commitment, service, and sacrifice. The Plainfield Optimist Clubs Provides Dinner to all shifts as well as the administration to show our appreciation for all they do to keep the citizens of Hendricks County safe.

- Plainfield Optimist Club partners with Plainfield area schools to annually recognize teachers for outstanding and dedicated service to youth through their efforts in the classroom. The honored teacher from each school is invited to attend an annual banquet in the spring where they are recognized among their peers and presented with an award from the Optimist Club.
